An eight-goal second term helped West Adelaide defeat Woodville-West Torrens by 59 points at Richmond Oval in Round 5 of the AAMI Talent League Boys U16s.

After a competitive start to the contest, Joel Lipson’s major put the winless Eagles in front early in the second term.

However the Bloods hit back hard by booting the next eight goals to build a commanding lead by half-time, with Lachlan Hatcher (17 disposals and four goals) a presence in attack and Riley Gladigau nailing three majors in a row.

West midfielder Hugo Williams was instrumental in the victory, winning 10 clearances from 33 disposals, while ruckman Liam Cooper (15 disposals and 24 hit-outs) helped West gain the ascendency at stoppages.

Consistent Eagles midfielder Tyson Schultz (29 disposals, six marks and six clearances) battled hard and forward Ayden Topp booted three goals.

South Adelaide defied inaccuracy in front of goal to defeat Central District by 62 points at X Convenience Oval.

Despite registering eight more scoring shots in the first half, the wasteful Panthers trailed by two points at the main break.

However, it was a far different story in the second half as South slammed through 11 of the last 12 goals to remain undefeated.

Panther duo Billy Brind (13 disposals and three goals) and Fergus Vogt (25 disposals, seven contested marks and three goals) combined brilliantly in attack and midfielder Liam Bell finished with a game-high 27 disposals and seven clearances.

For the battling Bulldogs, Levi Dudley booted two goals, including their only second-half major, and ball-winners Braith Hickey and Logan Treverton stood up.

A dramatic second-half turnaround saw undefeated Glenelg eclipse Sturt by 38 points at Stratarama Stadium.

The Double Blues led by 27 points early in the third term when ruck Ollie Jones kicked his third major, but then came a resounding response from the home side.

Led by stars Josh Allan, Ryder Lindner and Zane Rooney, the Bays surged ahead and slammed through seven unanswered goals in the final quarter to keep their unbeaten streak alive.

Tigers Allan and Harrison Webb booted an equal game-high three goals while midfielders Jacob Westley (23 disposals and two goals) and Liam Charlesworth (22 disposals and a goal) were among Sturt’s best.

A six-goal performance from Cohen Haines helped North Adelaide cruise to a 68-point victory over Norwood at The Parade.

Never troubled on the scoreboard, North moved the ball well and the Roosters’ forwards capitalised on their 53-22 inside-50 advantage.

Haines was the standout in attack, but the red and whites had plenty of strong performers including Bodhi Ebert (22 disposals, five clearances and a goal) and the ever-reliable Harry Hobby (24 disposals, seven tackles and a goal).

Max Rossetto (29 disposals and nine rebound-50s), Tyler Hitch (27 disposals and eight clearances) and Kalani Fraser (18 disposals and five clearances) were among the Redlegs’ best.
