Athelstone has completed its dream season after claiming an historic undefeated premiership with a 35-point win against Kilburn in the 2024 APM SANFL Inclusive League Grand Final at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

Winning their first crown in comfortable fashion, the Raggies – coached by Zac Del Medico and Sam Gligora – appeared inspired by the opportunity to play immediately after the Woodville-West Torrens v Norwood Hostplus SANFL League clash.

Jumping out of the blocks with two goals in the first term, the minor premiers then established an ominous 19-point lead by the main change.

With best-on-ground medallist Matthew Greenwood in control, the Raggies kept the scoreboard ticking over throughout the second half while restricting the Chics to just two behinds.

Athelstone joint vice-captain Carmine Paccihano and teammate Wayne Kinross booted two goals each as they proved difficult to contain inside 50m.

The Chics were well served by captain Jacob Palkovics and his deputy Austinn Jones, who battled hard throughout the afternoon.

Palkovics and Koddee McKenzie were Kilburn’s two goal scorers with one apiece.
