The AAMI SA U16 Team finished its 2026 Marsh AFL National Championships in style with an impressive 65-point win against Victoria Metro in Game 3 at Fankhauser Reserve in Southport.

Finishing runner-up overall with a 2-1 win-loss record, the Croweaters continued their fine form after Tuesday’s hard-fought 23-point victory against Victoria Country in Game 2.

After bursting out of the blocks to boot the opening four goals of the game, Heath Younie’s charges put themsevles in a position to steal the title after gaining valuable percentage in their final outing.

But Western Australia spoiled the party by crusing to a comfortable win against Victoria Country in the last match of the day, ensuring they would take the crown by remaining undefeated.

AAMI SA U16 midfielder Logan Treverton completed his campaign with another strong performance, collecting a team-high 29 disposals to earn the medal as the Croweaters’ Most Valuable Player across the tournament.

Fellow onballers Ryder Lindner (18 disposals, two goals) and Jacob Westley (18 disposals) were also key influences on the result, joint vice-captain Westley displaying a natural flair at the centre clearances throughout.

Creative forward Zephyr Thomson was a constant threat for the Croweaters inside attacking 50m, booting three goals as he complemented dominant tall forwards Fergus Vogt (four goals) and Harrison Schubert (two goals, two goal assists).

Key defenders Charlie Doan and Jack Brooks were again rock solid for SA while joint vice-captain Samuel DePalma enjoye his best game of the carnival with two goals.
