Norwood can sew up its berth in the 2024 Novita SANFL Wheelchair Grand Final with victory against Sturt in Round 8 at the Lights Community Sports Centre on Friday night.
Currently sitting in second spot with four wins, the Redlegs can put the Double Blues – with two wins – out of the equation if they prove too strong from 8pm.
Competition pacesetter Woodville-West Torrens, seeking its first Novita SANFL Wheelchair Football League crown, remains the team to beat having won all of its seven matches with two games to play in the minor round.
Central District will be aiming to finish the season off strongly with two wins in succession, as the Bulldogs begin to focus on the playoff for third spot.
Central forward Jamie Smyth still has plenty to play for as he currently sits equal third with Norwood’s Michael Neroni in the race for the 2024 Leading Goal Scorer, seven majors behind the Eagles’ Steve Edge and Trevor Jarrett on 32.
The 2024 Novita SANFL Wheelchair Grand Final will be held on Friday August 2 from 7.30pm with the third place playoff starting at 6.10pm.
Players from all teams will be looking to impress across the last two matches and finals, as they put their hands up for selection in the South Australian team to compete at the AFL Open Wheelchair National Championship to be held in Queensland this November.
All matches in the Novita SANFL Wheelchair League are streamed live and on-demand via SANFL Now.
