SANFL and its 8 member clubs are committed to raising profile, awareness and much needed financial support for many local, national and international charity organisations.


CENTRAL DISTRICT FOOTBALL CLUB

Novita Children’s Services provides child development, rehabilitation, inclusion support and a range of disability services to more than 3800 children and young people, as well as support for their families and carers, throughout South Australia. Novita has been assisting children living with disabilities and other needs for over 75 years, to develop their potential every day.

Along with year round fundraising and promotional efforts, Central District Football Club hosts an annual charity game to raise much needed funds and awareness for this cause.

NORTH ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB

Make-A-Wish wishes gives very sick children and teenagers hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience.

NORWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB

Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families. Situated on Melbourne Street, North Adelaide and only a short walk to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the House can accommodate up to 20 families each night.

Along with year round fundraising and promotional efforts, Norwood Football Club hosts an annual charity game to raise much needed funds and awareness for this cause.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Australian men (apart from common skin cancers). There are about 17,000 new cases in Australia every year.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association of SA (MND SA) provides information, education and support to the South Australian community affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Their mission is to help reduce the impact of Motor Neurone Disease on people living with MND, their families and carers.

Along with year round fundraising and promotional efforts, Norwood Football Club will participate in a charity game hosted by Port Adelaide Football Club to raise much needed funds and awareness for this cause.

SOUTH ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB

The Daw House Hospice Foundation raises money to support end of life services that are not currently funded by the South Australian Government. Support means more than just medical help; people with a terminal illness also need emotional, spiritual and practical support on a daily basis.

South Adelaide Football Club coaches make regular visits to the Daw Hospice House, they also promote this cause at home matches and functions.

In 2008, South Adelaide youth footballer Sam Davis fell victim of a violent and unprovoked one-punch assault that cost him his life. Sam’s death is part of an alarming trend in our society around alcohol and drug fuelled violence. The Foundation was founded with the ultimate aim of preventing such a tragedy from ever happening again.

A medal has been struck in Sam’s honour and is awarded to a South Adelaide U18 player each year.

STURT FOOTBALL CLUB

Youth Inc offers mentoring programs and self-development for young disadvantaged people, as well as employment opportunities.

Sturt Football Club participates in a number of promotional and fundraising activities for Youth Inc including collections at home matches, the dreaded shave and the Mt Lofty Run.

Sturt Football Club Players, Coaches and Administrators are actively engaged with Youth Incs Mentor program.

Soldier On’s mission is to achieve the best reintegrated generation of serving and ex-serving men and women in Australia’s history.  72,000 Australians have served in the Australian Defence Force since 1990, and thousands will be effected by their service, be it physically or psychologically. Soldier On provides a suite of services and access to partner organisations to meet the needs of our wounded so that they can start their journey on their road to recovery

Along with year round fundraising and promotional efforts, Woodville West Torrens Football Club hosts an annual charity game to raise much needed funds and awareness for this cause.

The Little Heroes logo also features prominently on the Eagles Guernsey.

DONATION REQUEST POLICY

The below information explains SANFL’s guidelines regarding charity support and donations.

Policies and procedures for submitting a request:

  • All donation requests must be submitted by completing the SANFL Charity Request Form
  • The form must be filled out completely in order for your request to be considered
  • Your request for a donation item must be received by SANFL at least five (5) weeks prior to the day your organisation needs the item
  • Your organisation must be a registered charity, school or not-for-profit organisation
  • Please keep in mind a submission does not guarantee your organisation will receive a donation.  We receive a large volume of requests, and may not be able to accommodate them all.
  • Your organisation must have a representative located in South Australia

 

Restrictions:

SANFL will not accept applications for the following causes:

  • Political parties, associations and representatives of advocacy groups
  • Organisations that discriminate by race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion or national origin, disability or veteran status
  • Religious organisations, churches and programs that are purely denominational in purpose
  • Research projects
  • Advertising and promotion
  • Private or family foundations

Requests for monetary donations will not be accepted.
