Vale Donald Laffin

SANFL is mourning the passing of Player Life Member Donald Laffin.

The lion-hearted Glenelg ruckman was aged 92.

Making his debut for the Tigers in the 1946 season, Laffin played a total of 136 SANFL League matches until his retirement in 1955.

He kicked a total of 83 goals in his career, including a match-winning major against Norwood at The Parade in 1949 on the final siren.

Laffin – awarded his SANFL Player LIfe Membership in 1957 – was also a member of the Bays’ Grand Final side in 1950 (pictured below), which lost to the Redlegs at the Adelaide Oval.
