Milestone

South’s Smith to chalk up 50 games

By ZAC MILBANK

You don’t get much more South Adelaide than Jaslynne Smith.

Not only has the dual premiership defender played more SANFLW League games for the Panthers than any other player, she also works at the club in its bistro – Jimmy Deane’s.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 20-year-old said she was proud to be the third SANFLW player to reach her 50-game milestone against Sturt at Prospect Oval on Saturday.

Starting her career with the Kenilworth Football Club before moving to Morphettville Park, Smith has fond memories of kicking the footy with her dad in the street as she honed her skills.

Making her SANFLW debut with West Adelaide in the historic opening night of the Statewide Super Women’s League, Smith played four games for the Bloods in 2017 before transferring to the Panthers in their inaugural season of 2018.

Experiencing the 2018 and 2019 premierships will be something she forever cherishes as she continues to dream of playing at AFLW level while enjoying her time on both sides of the fence at Noarlunga.
