It doesn’t matter where, but Declan Hamilton will keep on dashing as he reaches his 150th Hostplus SANFL League game on Monday.
Norwood’s popular elder statesman was streaming out of defence as a bold half-back when he notched his triple-figure milestone three years ago.
Now, under Redlegs coach Jade Sheedy, the Physical Education teacher has revitavlised himself on a wing where he’s also consistently hitting the scoreboard.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 30-year-old said he’s ”physically and mentally in a really good space” as his body shows no signs of slowing down.
Hamilton, the nephew of SA footy superstars Darren and Andrew Jarman, will continue to take it one year at a time in terms of chasing down SANFL Player Life Membership’s 200-game qualification.
Norwood’s No.10 has got plenty on his plate in between time though, as he seeks to add another premiership medallion to the one he earned in 2022.
The class of 2026 is gathering genuine momentum on the back of a six-game winning streak as it prepares to tackle arch-rival Sturt at Thomas Farms Oval on Monday.
In 2023, Hamilton celebrated his 100th game with an upset win against the Double Blues at Unley and while his Legs will this time go in as slight favourite, he will be doing everything in his power to ensure the outcome is the same.
