Six SANFLW stars had their dreams realised at the 2025 AFLW Draft on Monday night at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.
2025 SA U18 Girls captain and 2025 SANFLW Powerade Breakthrough Player of the Year – Woodville-West Torrens’ utility Imogen Trengove – was South Australia’s first pick of the night, selected by Collingwood at pick No.8.
Trengove, who averaged 25 disposals and 5.7 tackles across the 2025 Marsh AFLW National Championships, was also recognised for her outstanding year with All-Australian selection.

Balanced midfielder, Central District’s Sophie Eaton, was the next SANFLW player to have her name called at pick No.17, landing at Port Adelaide.
The talented youngster played 10 games for the Bulldogs this season, averaging 14.1 disposals at 70 per cent efficiency, as well as 4.2 tackles.
“I am just so excited and so grateful to be at Port Adelaide,” Eaton said.
West Adelaide’s Lucy Waye – who had an excellent showing at the 2025 AFLW Combine, finishing inside the top 10 in four categories, was next selected at pick No.21 by Adelaide.
Waye, who can play as a midfielder and a medium defender, averaged 19 disposals and 7.5 tackles for South Australia at the 2025 Marsh AFLW National Championships, along with playing 11 games for West Adelaide in the Hostplus SANFLW League this season.
Lily Baxter landed at Carlton with pick No.24, with the South Adelaide dual premiership player typically playing on the wing, and had maximum impact for the Panthers this season, averaging 12.5 disposals at 72 per cent efficiency.
The Victor Harbor product also played all four games for South Australia in this year’s 2025 Marsh AFLW National Championships.
Norwood key defender Charli Hazelhurst was the first South Australian to be selected in the second round of the draft, with Fremantle taking her at pick No.35.
Hazelhurst, who is a Tea Tree Gully product, has an excellent overhead mark and is a dual-athlete, balancing football and netball this year.
Sturt speedster Monique Bessen was the second Croweater to be selected by Fremantle, heading to the Dockers at pick No.40.
The winger, who featured in all four of South Australia’s championship games this year, debuted for the Double Blues in 2023, and is known for her work rate and athleticism.
