Round 15 AAMI Talent League Boys Match Wraps

Glenelg maintained its place inside the AAMI Talent League’s top four by running over the top of South Adelaide by 23 points at Stratarama Stadium. 

Trailing by five points at half-time, the Bays clicked into gear throughout the second half while booting 9.5 to the Panthers’ 5.1 to hold Sturt out of fourth place.

A trio of AAMI SA U18 representatives led the way for the Tigers, with Gabe Patterson (14 disposals, five goals), Harry Franz and Jacob McNicol (20 disposals, two goals) all influential.

South midfielder Archie Van Dyk, who has recovered strongly from a back injury, racked up a game-high 36 disposals and 15 clearances while teammates Cain Florance (25 disposals, three goals) and Kody Shortridge (three goals) battled hard.

Central District’s efficiency with the Sherrin shone in its tightly-fought 14-point win against Norwood at X Convenience Oval. 

Still sitting at the top of the premiership table on percentage, the Bulldogs had 41 fewer disposals yet engineered two more inside 50s while holding off the inaccurate Redlegs.

The hosts recognised Joel Kotsano (23 disposals), Cooper Tamas and ruck Callan Semmler (18 disposals, four clearances) for their strong efforts.

Norwood, only one win outside of the top four, was fuelled by Kai Ivins (24 disposals, two goals), William Tanner (25 disposals, one goal) and Joseph Nak (three goals).

Sturt responded from its sluggish start to record an important 34-point victory against North Adelaide at Revo Fitness Oval.

The Double Blues conceded three of the opening four goals of the match – including the first inside 20 seconds – before leading at every change to bank the premiership points.

Rebounding defenders Kale Matthews-Hampton (25 disposals) and Harvey Chapman (24 disposals) made it difficult for the Roosters to score as Will Ekberg racked up 24 disposals and a goal for the visitors.

North lauded the intent of Sam Tassone (30 disposals), Bradley Rogers (22 disposals) and Rafele Gallace.

Woodville-West Torrens burst out of the blocks to have West Adelaide on the back foot in its comfortable 36-point win at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

A blistering seven-goal opening quarter set the tone for the Eagles, who even managed a goalless last term whilst notching their 10th win of the season.

Eagles’ ball magnet Romario Clemente (38 disposals, two goals), key defender Mitchell Harris (24 disposals, 11 marks) and Lachlan Marshall-Bates (four goals) were all imposing figures for their team.

The Bloods had Harper Farquhar (24 disposals), Ryan McAulay (19 disposals) and Nathanial Lampton try hard to get their side back into the contest.
