Round 15 AAMI Talent League Boys U16 Match Wraps

A remarkable 12-goal performance from North Adelaide forward Cohen Haines helped the Roosters defeat Sturt by 84 points at Revo Fitness Oval in Round 15 of the AAMI Talent League Boys U16s.

The Double Blues kicked the only two goals of the first term before Haines took complete control of the game for the red and whites in one the most dominant performances seen at the level.

Although Haines stole the show, the Roosters were also well served by Tom Laube (26 disposals and seven clearances) and Samuel Pedlar (26 disposals and a goal).

On a disappointing day for the visitors, Sturt were led by Luke Brook (24 disposals and nine inside-50s), William Russo (21 disposals and 11 tackles) and Hugh Kellaway (18 disposals and a goal).

Central District did enough to overcome Norwood by 27 points at X Convenience Oval.

The Bulldogs gained the ascendancy at clearances (29-18) and won the inside-50 battle (47-36), while a four-goal haul from Levi Geister proved decisive.

Braith Hickey continued his terrific season by collecting 32 disposals, eight tackles and a goal and Hunter Fieldhouse gathered 30 disposals and six inside-50s.

Harrison Tink (30 disposals and a goal) and Zayd El-Hosni (27 disposals and seven tackles) were busy for the Redlegs, while Malik Osman booted two goals.

A crucial four-goal third term helped South Adelaide upset Glenelg by 20 points at Stratarama Stadium.

With scores level at half-time, the Panthers got to work and opened up a match-winning lead, despite not kicking a goal in the final term.

Darcy Campbell-Kearney (25 disposals, 11 tackles and seven clearances), Archie Wheaton (25 disposals and 11 marks) and Tommy Aldridge (22 disposals and a goal) stood out for the Panthers.

Josh Allan (26 disposals and six clearances) led the way for Glenelg alongside Luca Fouyaxis (20 disposals and a goal) and ruckman Taj Wilson (13 disposals, 26 hit-outs and a goal).

West Adelaide consolidated its grasp on third spot with a 38-point win over Woodville-West Torrens at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

The Eagles kicked the first three goals of the contest and led at half-time, however West flicked the switch to boot nine of the last 12 goals.

Hugo Steinborner booted a game-high three goals for the Bloods, while on-baller Naman Mittal (29 disposals, nine clearances, 11 inside-50s and a goal) and ruckman Jackson Webber (21 disposals and 19 hit-outs) also impressed.

Eagle Hunter Mumford registered a game-high 30 disposals and 10 marks and teammates Jimmy Burton and Archie Marshall managed two goals apiece from limited opportunities.
