SANFL U17 Futures Teams

A selection of South Australia’s best Under-17 footballers will have their chance to shine on Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final day when they line up in the SANFL U17 Futures match at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Kicking off at 9.15am as the first of three matches to be played at the home of SA footy, the SANFL U17 Futures contest is the culmination of a three-week elite program designed for players eligible for selection in the 2023 AFL Draft.

Only players not participating for their SANFL club in the Reserves, U16 or U18 Torrens University Cup Grand Final will be available for the U17 Futures match.

Team Yellow will boast exciting South midfielders Phoenix Hargrave and Benny Barrett as well as smart Sturt onballer Luca Slade and rebounding Double Blues defender Alex Holt.

Team Blue will include Torrens University SA U16 captain Sid Draper, who will be keen to impress after only managing one Championship match due to a wrist injury while SA U16 MVP Will McCabe is sure to provide plenty of intercept marking power in defence.

The SANFL U17 Futures match, which will proceed the Reserves Grand Final, will be played across four 20-minute quarters with no time-on.
