The SANFL has launched the 2025 Hostplus SANFL League season, with Round One to kick off from this Friday night.

Arch rivals Port Adelaide and reigning Premiers Glenelg will open the season under lights at Alberton from 7:10pm.

A super Saturday of footy will follow, with three games in the traditional afternoon timeslot – Central District v Woodville-West Torrens at X Convenience Oval, West Adelaide v Adelaide at Hisense Stadium and South Adelaide to host Sturt at Magain Stadium.

Then Saturday night, Norwood takes on North Adelaide under lights at Coopers Stadium from 7:10pm in the Seven and 7plus prime time broadcast match of the round.

The festival vibe also is set to roll on into the footy season, with SANFL re-launching its Super Match concept for the Hostplus SANFL League in 2025.

Now in its third season, the Super Match initiative – presented in partnership with The Advertiser – will see a series of marquee games during the season feature off-field attractions to enhance the match-day experience.

The marquee clashes will feature The Advertiser Family Zone with giant lawn games, putt putt golf, various voucher giveaways and Hostplus goal cards, and a relaxed “chill out zone” complete with bean bags and Health Partners deck chairs, and featuring the AAMI Lucky Zone and the chance to win $100 cash prizes.

Other activations locked in include pop up wine and gin bars, West End roaming backpacks and beats from a Fresh 92.7 DJ.

“At every venue, we want to ensure that SANFL footy continues to be an accessible, entertaining family-friendly experience for all ages to enjoy,” SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said.

“Not only are you guaranteed high quality football, it’s a chance to cheer on your club at a local ground, get up close to your favourite League players and the up-and-coming stars of footy and enjoy festive match-day experiences.”

In 2025, live and on-demand streaming of every Hostplus SANFL League match continues on SANFL’s streaming platform, SANFL Now, alongside the weekly live match broadcast on Seven and 7plus and a live radio broadcast of a match of the round every weekend on 1629 SEN SA.
