SANFL is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with The Advertiser’s streaming platform, KommunityTV, which provides an opportunity to showcase SA’s most talented teenage footballers to the nation.

The exclusive streaming deal kicks off this weekend with live coverage of the 2023 Torrens University SA Under 18 State Team’s first hit out against the NSW Academy at Thebarton Oval on Sunday.

This will be one of two State U18s trial matches to be featured on KommunityTV, with the second match being the team’s second trial match on Friday May 19. This match will be against the SA Under 20s, comprising the best 19 and 20-year-olds currently playing in the Hostplus SANFL League and Reserves.

Also exclusively streamed on KommunityTV in 2023 will be 24 matches from the SANFL Intra-State Youth Carnivals in the July and October school holidays. These carnivals are an integral part of SANFL Club talent pathways, with the best crop of teenage boys and girls from each SANFL Club zone competing across three days.

SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said the addition of KommunityTV to existing streaming platforms SANFL Now and the AFL Live Official App, would provide a new level of reach and exposure for SANFL’s teenage rising stars.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight SANFL and SANFL Clubs’ successful talent pathways and showcase the State’s best under-age players on show for footy fans, clubs and recruiters across the nation,” Mr Chandler said.

News Sport Network managing director Michael Wilkins said KommunityTV’s coverage of SANFL talent programs this season was a chance to shine a light on the exciting up and coming talent in South Australia.

“South Australia has a proud and longstanding tradition of producing quality footballers, and this season KommunityTV will be the place to see the next generation coming through that pipeline,” Mr Wilkins said.

“KommunityTV has partnered with the SANFL for several seasons now, and we are excited to continue that partnership in 2023.

“We have adjusted the focus of our live streaming this season to place more of our attention on the emerging juniors from across the state.

“We are eager to get it all underway with South Australia’s Under-18s squad playing in two trials in the lead up to the AFL National Championships, including against SA’s young guns (Under-20s) next Friday night.”
