NORWOOD

Norwood is refusing to risk one of its star midfielders for the Friday night clash with West Adelaide.

Jack Oatey Medallist Matt Panos has been rested with a heel complaint, as the Redlegs look to preserve one of their key players for later in the season.

Speedy wingman Anthony Wilson returns from a quad injury while defender Mac Bower and possible RAA Rookie Josh Richards (20, 175cm and 65kg) have been named on the extended interchange bench.

WEST

West Adelaide could have another debutant as it prepares to face Norwood on Friday night.

Kyle Kirk, from Dalyston in country Victoria, has been included on a five-man extended interchange bench.

The 22-year-old has been joined by Brett Turner, Tom Pillion, Murray Waite and Aaron Anderson in the Bloods’ 23-man squad.

Ken Karpany was sent back to the Reserves while West will be without key midfielders Will Snelling (Essendon) and John Noble (Collingwood) for the rest of the season after they were selected in the AFL Mid-Season Draft on Monday night.

North Adelaide will include another RAA Rookie when it hosts Adelaide at Prospect Oval on Saturday.

Mature-age Moonta product Dylan Aldridge (23, 180cm and 83kg) has been named to start at half-back after playing just three Reserves matches this season.

He has been joined by ruckman Jack Blair, half-forward Ben Jarman, midfielder Dakota Nixon and defender Luke Wharton in the Roosters’ 23-man squad.

Premiership defender Brock Castree has been sidelined by another ankle ailment while Dyson Hilder, Keanu Miller and Frank Szekely were sent back to the Reserves.

EAGLES

Woodville-West Torrens coach Sam Lonergan is keeping his selection options open in the lead up to the match against South on Saturday.

Three players have been included in the 23-man squad, with all three inclusions named on the extended interchange bench.

Of those, veteran wingman Chris Hall looms as the most likely to return after overcoming a foot injury.

Hall’s likely inclusion comes at the expense of utility Sam Rowland, who has been sent back to the Reserves.

Journeyman ruck Seb Guilhaus and rover Jake Comitogianni have also been called up to the League squad.

South Adelaide could welcome two new players for its contest against the Eagles on Saturday.

Blackwood FC bred midfielder Luke Bogle (19, 178cm and 81kg) will made his League debut after being named in the forward pocket.

Former Adelaide SANFL development backman James Loneragan (21, 189cm and 88kg) has been included on the four-man extended interchange bench.

Goal sneak Darnell Tucker has also been included in the 22-man squad for the Panthers.

Defender Lee Hoey injured his hamstring at training while lead ruckman Michael Knoll was selected by Sydney at Pick No.4 in the AFL Mid-Season Draft on Monday night.

Sturt could unleash the son of a Brownlow Medallist against Central on Sunday.

Casey Voss, the son of current Power assistant coach and Brisbane premiership captain Michael Voss, has been named on the extended interchange bench.

The 18-year-old – who measures in at 182cm and 80kg – has spent the majority of his time across half-back at Unley but can also push up into the midfield.

He has been joined in the Double Blues’ 22 by 2016 premiership backman Henry Carey, who has overcome a hamstring strain suffered at training.

Central District has loaded up with defensive reinforcements for the match against Sturt on Sunday.

The Bulldogs have included four backmen in their 23-man squad, with former Rooster Wyatt Patterson set to play his first Statewide Super League match of the season.

Dylan Weaver returns to the half-back flank after a stint in the Reserves while Ryan Llewellyn and Jaxon Neagle have also been included on the five-man extended interchange bench.

At least two changes will be made to the 21 which lost to Glenelg in Round 7, with Matthew Neagle and Frazer O’Gorman the certain exclusions at this stage.
