WEST

West Adelaide coach Brad Gotch has boosted his team’s leg speed ahead of the clash with Sturt at Hisense Stadium.

Pacy trio Nathan Batley, Kenny Karpany and Sam Davidson have been included in the 25-man squad, with Davidson a chance to make his club debut for the Bloods after moving from Port Adelaide’s SANFL team.

Ruckman Stuart Taverner and premiership midfielder Josh Schiller have also been listed on the seven-man extended interchange bench.

Hamish Gordon was sent back to the Reserves while 17-year-old debutant Harry Lemmey will line up for Scotch College.

STURT

Sturt will make at least one change to confront West at Hisense Stadium.

Mature-age wingman Charlie Parker has been sidelined by a collarbone injury, opening up an opportunity for at least one of Sturt’s four inclusions to play.

Wingman Josh Shute and midfielder Mani Liddy are prime candidates while talls Oliver Grivell and Riley Grundy are also in the 25-man squad.

Grivell has recovered from a knee injury while Grundy could play his first League game for the Double Blues.

Central District has added height to its defensive structure ahead of its game against South at X Convenience Oval.

Tall backmen Leek Alleer and Wyatt Patterson have been named to start on the last line of defence while captain Luke Habel will resume on a wing, as will fellow inclusion Lachlan Grubb.

Brendan Dew, Nick Lange and Chris Olsson have been added to the seven-man extended interchange bench, which must be trimmed by three before the bounce.

Brett Kennedy, Nick Gillard, Connor Mclean and Dylan Morton have all been relegated to the Reserves.

Reliable defender Tyson Brown comes in to the back pocket while pacy Luke Bogle will start at half-forward.

Goalsneak Darnell Tucker couldn’t be considered after breaking his wrist at training last Saturday.

Glenelg utility Tom Schott could play his first League game of the season against Norwood at ACH Group Stadium.

The former West Adelaide player is one of four inclusions to the Bays’ 25-man squad, along with Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Liam Wisdom and Will Chandler.

At least one change will be made by the Tigers, with medium forward Jack Yates sent back to the Reserves.

Former Bays wingman Dom Barry has been sidelined by a knee injury, forcing him out of the game against his old side.

At least two changes will be made by the Redlegs, with Mac Bower sent back to the Reserves.

Zac Richards, Jack Heard, Cole Gerloff, Henry Nelligan, Sam Morris and potential debutant Michael Cavallaro have all been included in the 25-man squad.

Cavallaro, (19, 175cm and 70kg) is from the Golden Grove Football Club.

Former Power forward Aaron Young returns to play across half-forward while premiership defender Tanner Smith is on the extended interchange.

Impressive tall Dyson Hilder joins him along with pacy wingman Billy Hartung, who has recovered from his latest hamstring setback.

Veteran ruckman James Craig has been sent back to the Reserves.

Adelaide pair James Rowe and Lachlan Sholl will play their first SANFL games of the season against Port at Adelaide Oval.

Woodville-West Torrens premiership goalsneak Rowe will start across half-forward in his first SANFL appearance since the 2020 Grand Final while Sholl starts on a wing.

SANFL development players Bailey Marshman and Oliver Clarke also come in, together with debutants Cameron Hutchens (Willunga) and Hayden Kernahan (Cove).

South Adelaide draftee Brayden Cook has been called up to make his AFL debut, he is among several AFL-listed Crows out of the squad which is yet to be finalised.

Port Adelaide captain Cam Sutcliffe will return from a shoulder injury for the SANFL Showdown at Adelaide Oval.

The Magpies skipper hasn’t played since the Round 11 loss against Sturt but has been named to start in the centre square.

Ruckman Sam Hayes has been named in the ruck after suffering a finger injury while defender Jarrod Lienert will play his first SANFL game since Round 10 after being squeezed out of the Power line-up.
