Central District displayed tremendous resilience in producing a heart-stopping two-point U16 Torrens University Cup win against Sturt at Wigan Oval.

Trailing at every change, the Bulldogs didn’t hit the front until Tallan Rosenzweig kicked truly in the eighth minute of the fourth quarter.

With Dyson Sharp (33 disposals, one goals), Ariel Rothe and Charlie Nicholls (two goals) starring, the Bulldogs managed to hang on as the Double Blues missed two late attempts to regain the lead.

For the hosts, Noah Roberts-Thomson (21 disposals), Alex Dodson (22 disposals) and Kobee Dabinett (19 disposals) did their bit to give their side a chance of winning.

Glenelg kept Woodville-West Torrens goalless for more than a half as it constructed a 55-point win at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

Leading by four goals at the opening change, the Bays turned the screws across the second and third terms as they kept the Eagles from scoring a goal while piling on 5.8.

Tigers Charlie McAuliffe (25 disposals, three goals), Lucas Camporeale (28 disposals, three goals) and Max Disbury (17 disposals, one goal) all hit the scoreboard while finding plenty of the ball.

Eagles pair Lachlan Lucas (21 disposals) and Jett Hasting (20 disposals) battled hard around the ground while William Hawker (16 disposals) was another solid contributor for the hosts.

Ladder-leading South Adelaide was forced to fend off a persistent Norwood to earn a 14-point win at The Parade.

The Panthers, considered strong favourites as they tackled the bottom-placed Redlegs, only led by three points at the final change as they battled to apply scoreboard pressure.

South officials praised Jake Agnew (two goals), Dakota Sterzl (four goals) and Blake Florance (two goals) for booting eight of their 10 majors for the match.

Norwood’s Kane Halfpenny, Jay Polkinghorne (22 disposals, three goals) and Levi Johnston (16 disposals) did a mighty job in getting their side close to producing a stunning upset.

North Adelaide pulled back valuable percentage on top-placed South Adelaide with a 34-point win against West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium.

With scores level at half-time, the Roosters slammed on 7.12 to the Bloods’ 3.2 as they got within 0.9 per cent of the Panthers on the premiership table.

North’s Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier was outstanding with 34 disposals and two goals while teammates Owen Kalic (29 disposals, two goals) and Louie Montgomery (23 disposals, three goals) also had an impact.

West’s Ayden Hodgson (26 disposals), Sam Burbridge (25 disposals, one goal) and Noah Baker (four goals) did their best to steal the premiership points.
