Sturt kept alive its slim chance of winning the Hostplus SANFLW League minor premiership with a thrilling nine-point win against Norwood at Wigan Oval.

The Double Blues, a game and four percent behind ladder-leading North Adelaide, led by just three points in the 19th minute of the fourth term.

But impressive forward Abbey Rigter continued her great season with a goal in the 21st minute to seal the result as team-mates Kiera Mueller (23 disposals, nine tackles) and Izzy Kuiper (21 disposals, 14 tackles) worked hard both ways.

Norwood vice-captain Sophie Armitstead collected 17 disposals and six clearances in her 50th SANFLW League match while talented utility Jade Halfpenny finished with 19 possessions and nine tackles.

A late behind kicked by Jessica Searle was enough for Glenelg to edge out South Adelaide by one point in a heart-stopper played at ACH Group Stadium.

After Tiger Ella Boag tied the scores with a behind in the 15th minute of the final term, Searle crumbed nicely but her kick bounced wide while being pushed sideways as she attempted to boot the sealer just a minute later.

Tiger trio Jess Bates (24 disposals, 12 tackles), Ellie Kellock (19 disposals) and Sarah Goodwin (18 disposals) were all influential as their team overcame inaccuracy in front of goal by kicking 4.11 (35).

South midfielder Nicole Campbell chalked up 17 disposals and nine tackles while defenders Nicole Collie and Sam Pratt each had 13 possessions.

Central District displayed great fighting spirit in overcoming Woodville-West Torrens by six points at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

Trailing by 13 points at three-quarter time, the Bulldogs kicked three goals in the fourth term while holding the Eagles scoreless to claim their fifth win of the season.

Central captain Shelby Smith dominated the contest with a game-high 34 disposals, while also laying eight tackles while teammates Laitiah Huynh and Madison Lane each tallied 24 possessions.

Talented Eagles teenager Shineah Goody showed why she won SA’s U18 MVP at the AFL National Championships by racking up a team-high 23 disposals and nine tackles.

North Adelaide strengthened its hold on the Hostplus SANFLW League minor premiership with a 27-point win against West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium.

The premiership favourites, who led at every change, weren’t troubled by the Bloods, who were unable to kick a goal until Louella McCarthy saluted in the 13th minute of the third term.

Roosters triple threat Jess Edwards (23 disposals), Hannah Ewings (21 disposals) and Katelyn Pope (20 disposals) worked hard as teammates Brianna Arthur and Jade De Melo booted two goals each.

West leadership group member Keeley Kustermann collected a team-high 25 disposals as Bloods forward Nicole Hooper booted two goals.
