North Adelaide continued to assert itself as the U16 Torrens University Cup pacesetter with a 55-point win against Norwood at The Parade.

The only team in the competition with a percentage in excess of 60, the Roosters are now nestled nicely at the top of the table with a 9-1 win-loss record.

North midfield movers Evan Bradley and Mitchell Llewellyn each collected 26 disposals and booted two goals while Matthew Beard had 22 disposals, 10 tackles and a goal.

Norwood’s Anthony Mustaca again stood up for his team with a haul of 30 disposals, five tackles and four clearances.

Sturt ran over the top of Central District to bank a 25-point win at X Convenience Oval.

Drawing level with the Bulldogs halfway through the third term, the Double Blues then kicked the last four goals of the game while only conceding a behind to finish in impressive fashion.

Hard-working Sturt midfielder Jasper Maher had the ball on a string for 36 disposals and eight clearances while teammate Noah Dunn kicked a contender for Goal of the Year after a stunning checkside on the boundary.

Central’s Riley McDonald led the way for his side with 32 disposals while Brodie Wills, son of Central’s SANFLW veteran Taryn Wills, had 25 possessions.

West Adelaide caused the upset of Round 10 with a spirited 36-point win against Glenelg at Hisense Stadium.

Securing just their second win of the season, the Bloods knocked over the Bays with a barnstorming second half, booting 8.6 to the Tigers’ 3.2.

West’s Ayden Hodgson was a key factor in the hosts’ stirring win with 28 disposals, seven clearances and nine tackles while Fraser Morley lent valuable support with his 21 possessions.

Glenelg’s Kallan Bevan fought hard until the final siren with his 32 disposals while Harry Wright and Charlie Brodie (15 disposals, two goals) were also recognised by their coaches.

 

Restricting Woodville-West Torrens to two scoreless quarters allowed South Adelaide to cruise to a 22-point victory at Flinders University Stadium.

Closing the Eagles out completely in the first and third terms, the Panthers were able to withstand the visitors’ four-goal fourth-quarter comeback.

South midfielder Phoenix Hargrave was a vital ingredient in his team’s win with 34 disposals and 10 clearances while Cohen Shortridge (28 disposals) and Sid Draper (18 disposals, three goals) also had an impact.

Eagles officials were pleased with the efforts of Lachlan Lucas (20 disposals, six tackles) and Ray Sumner (18 disposals, six tackles, five clearances).
