The stage is set for South Australia’s most talented U18 boys to showcase their silky skills as the newly-branded AAMI Talent League kicks off on Wednesday night.

Featuring two double-headers across two nights, Round 1 of the AAMI Talent League Boys competition will provide an early insight into the pacesetters for season 2026.

Reigning premier Sturt will begin its premiership defence in the opening clash of the campaign against Central District at The Parade on Wednesday from 5.30pm.

Captained by prolific rover Angus Mills, the son of former South Adelaide midfielder Trent Mills, the Double Blues will feature sons of former Crows Mark Ricciuto (Nick Ricciuto) and Ben Nelson (Jack Nelson) in their on-ball brigade.

The Bulldogs will unleash AFL Academy member Jack Gordon as its skipper through the centre square, with Archie Faulkner, son of former Western Bulldogs forward Cameron Faulkner, one to watch.

Norwood will host North Adelaide in the second contest under lights at The Parade from 8pm, with the Redlegs listing impressive Kai Ivins and Charlie Best, both in last year’s SA U16 team, to start in the midfield.

The Roosters, to be coached for the first time by South Adelaide great Nick Liddle, will be led at the first bounce by talented AFL Academy ruck Ethan Herbert.

Woodville-West Torrens and Glenelg will get the Sherrin moving on Thursday night, when they lock horns at Richmond Oval in the first match from 5.30pm.

West Adelaide will look to make the most of its home-ground advantage in the second clash against South Adelaide from 8pm.

Teams for the Thursday night matches will be added to this article link below on Wednesday afternoon.
