Kellock continues to create history at Glenelg

Ellie Kellock continues to make her presence felt at Glenelg as she prepares to become the club’s first player to register 50 Hostplus SANFLW League games.

Just the fourth player in League history to achieve the feat of resilience, Kellock will add the accolade to those of becoming the Bays’ first SANFLW premiership captain whilst also playing in the club’s first SANFLW game in 2017.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, Kellock said she was honoured to be the first Tiger to reach the milestone, cherishing her memories of playing in the club’s first win against West five years ago.

Originally from Farrell Flat in the state’s mid north, the 24-year-old grew up kicking the footy in the backyard with her brothers.

But after chiefly playing netball throughout her childhood, it wasn’t until her late teens that Kellock decided to pursue football at Morphettville Park, having moved down to attend Sacred Heart College.

Now proudly sporting Glenelg’s No.5 as captain, Kellock relished holding the SANFLW premiership cup aloft last season before turning her attention to this year’s campaign.

Starting the season with a 1-1 win-loss record, the Bays will be pushing to honour Kellock with a win against South Adelaide at Flinders University Stadium on Sunday.

The Tigers’ super-fit midfielder will join Norwood’s Leah Cutting, North’s Leah Tynan and South’s Jaz Smith in reaching the 50-game milestone.
