Eight SANFL players have received invites to the 2023 AFL Draft Combine to be held in Melbourne from Friday October 6 to Sunday October 8.

Headlined by AFL Academy quartet Jack Delean, Ashton Moir, Kane McAuliffe and Will Patton, the Croweaters’ contingent will undergo medical screenings and interviews at the MCG across the opening two days before completing a series of physical tests on the final day at Marvel Stadium.

Physical testing will include the vertical jump, running vertical jump, 20-metre sprint, agility test and 2km time trial.

Emerging Panthers ruckman Taylor Goad has also attracted interest with his athleticism while dominant Redlegs midfielder William Rowlands, originally from the Northern Territory, has also gained selection.

Defenders Will McCabe, who is a father-son selection for Hawthorn, and Bodie Ryan, who was SA’s best player against Victoria Country, will have an opportunity to impress at season’s end.

Nine SANFL players have been invited to the State AFL Draft Combine, which will be held at the University of SA’s Mawson Lakes Campus on Saturday October 14.

They include talented midfielders Loch Rawlinson (Sturt) and Jed Dignan (North) as well as Bulldogs key forward Liam Fawcett.

Redlegs pair Logan Evans, who began his season in the Hostplus SANFL League and Alice Springs product Orlando Turner have also captured attention.

Four players – Sturt trio Luca Slade, Henry Maerschel and Alex Holt together with Glenelg ruckman Harry Francis – have been added in late August.
