It’s not often a player contacts a club in the recruiting process but Central’s Caitlen Teague is forever grateful she picked up the phone.

Preparing to play her 50th Hostplus SANFLW League game for the Bulldogs in Round 8, Teague reached out to inaugural Central coach Shaun Ribbons in the hope of extending her career beyond her one appearance for Norwood in 2017.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 25-year-old has loved her time at the Ponderosa since making her debut for the club in 2019.

Now an integral member of coach Ben Hunt’s exciting outfit, Teague has been relishing the team-based milestones which continue to fall in 2023.

Not only did the Doggies kick their highest club score of 10.10 (70) in Round 7, they also defeated South Adelaide for the first time in Round 4.

But the big goal at season’s end will be to compete in the Hostplus SANFLW League finals series for the first time.

And it’s fair to say Teague – who works in a rewarding role off-field for the Animal Welfare League – will also be rewarded for her on-field loyalty and commitment should this come to fruition.
