Bradley’s Big Stage Milestone

By ZAC MILBANK

The last place Glenelg premiership defender Andrew Bradley thought he would play his 150th game was the Adelaide Oval.

With his most recent outing on the hallowed turf being his most memorable – the Bays’ drought-breaking 2019 Grand Final win – it was fair to assume his milestone match would have been unfurling the flag at ACH Group Stadium.

Instead, after the unprecedented Covid-19 shutdown period, the 28-year-old will confront Norwood at the home of SA footy this Sunday from 3.05pm.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, Bradley said he was excited to share the experience with family and friends with approval granted for a crowd of up to 5000.

Originally from the south-east town of Kybybolite, Bradley made his League debut with the Tigers in Round 1 of 2010 after captaining the club to an Under-19 premiership a year earlier.

The loyal veteran admitted the recent uncertainty had been challenging even for someone of his experience, in terms of staying in shape and maintaining motivation, not knowing if the season would progress.

But now the green light has been given for a 14-game minor round plus finals, Bradley is excited to have the opportunity to defend the Tigers’ premiership status.

He expects to continue playing predominantly in defence this year while also pushing up to the wing on occasions for coach Mark Stone.
