South Australia’s most talented mid-teen footballers have faced off at the 2022 SANFL Youth Intrastate Carnival held across metropolitan Adelaide from Tuesday October 4 to Thursday October 6.

All eight non AFL-aligned SANFL clubs fielded four teams across the first week of the school holidays, with boys featuring in the Metro U15 and Country U15 competitions.

Budding SANFLW players also had an opportunity to shine in the Girls U14 and U16 competitions.

Teams were split into two divisions – Pool A and Pool B – with four SANFL venues hosting four matches in succession across each of the three days.

As many as 24 games across all four competitions were telecast via The Advertiser’s Kommunity TV live-streaming service.

The carnival is an integral facet of SANFL’s Development Plan as it enables SANFL Clubs to observe players against quality opposition to assist with selection into their U16s Centre of Excellence for the boys and SANFL Development/League for the girls.
