Female Coaching

The Kickstart Coaching Program is designed to provide women interested in exploring coaching the opportunity to try coaching for a short period, learning from the head coach of an established team.

Whether you're a woman interested in taking up coaching, a club volunteer passionate about growing women coaching or a coach passionate about 'leaving the ladder down' to help support the next group of women coaches, this program is for you!

Women coaching role models are vital to our great game. The door is wide open for you (and your friends!) to kickstart your first step into coaching. We want to make this a fun and easy way to explore what it's like to coach footy, so round up your mates and get involved! The program involves;

- 4 trainings and/or game days with a team at your club, being mentored by the team head coach

- Complete a coach accreditation package designed specifically for new women coaches, to help you feel confident in taking your first step.

We can run one at your club if there is 8 or more attending, centralised sessions at Adelaide Oval or an online course if you would prefer (speak to your club about the best option available to you).

You are the amazing person at your club that we're looking for! Passionate about growing and developing women and girls footy, and seeing more women become amazing role models as coaches.

We've mapped out an easy to follow and exciting process for you to help provide emerging women coaches with their first step into coaching. This involves

- Tapping on the shoulder women from your club that might be interested to join the program

- Pairing them up current coaches at your club that are passionate about mentoring emerging women coaches

- Checking in and supporting their experience

Firstly, a HUGE thanks! If you are reading this, you are a current coach with a heart of gold, passionate about mentoring women who are brand new to coaching. This is such an exciting opportunity to help provide a positive example of coaching. Your involvement involves;

- Having emerging women coaches join your coaching team for 4 trainings and/or game days

- Providing them with opportunities to see you coach and do some coaching of their own within your team

The women will either be aligned to you by a leader at your club, or if you know of any women who might like to join the program - tap them on the shoulder and invite them to get involved!
