”He just wasn’t able to capitalise on his year, this year, based on a really good U17 year (in 2021).

”That can happen, sometimes when you have an exceptional U17 year, the U18 year can be a real challenge.

”Will Gould was similar to that, his U17 year was All-Australian, played in our winning champs team, and Darcy Fogarty was the same.

”When they get to their U18 year there is a lot of expectation and pressure and talk about where these boys might end up, in my opinion, far too prematurely.

”Unfortunately Harry couldn’t get going at the start of the season, he didn’t have Covid but his family had Covid so he missed training due to isolation.

”That stop-start nature of his preseason and early games this year clearly had an impact on his form and his confidence.

”We saw a player in our program who was trying so damn hard to replicate what he was able to do last year but not getting the reward.

”What we do know about Harry Lemmey is he is athletic, he is tall, he runs and can mark it, he can kick the ball a mile.

”His attention to detail and application to being the best player he can be is certainly at the level required.”
