Possessing a lethal left-foot kick, the boy from Cleve on the Eyre Peninsula thrived on playing at a higher standard of footy in the Statewide Super League this year. Taheny averaged more than two goals a game in his seven League appearances with the Redlegs, which included hauls of 3, 3, 5 and 4 in the space of four matches. Quick off the mark, Taheny displayed his elite speed at the AFL Combine in Melbourne where he broke the 3 second barrier for the 20m sprint. This makes him hard to stop on the lead once he gets a head of steam up.
