SANFL Community Football have a number of AFL policies that have been adopted as part of the Rules & Regulations. The most notable document that is adopted is the Community Football Policy Handbook.
SANFL is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people participating in, officiating or associated in any way with football in South Australia. SANFL's Member Protection policy and commitment also extends to vulnerable and marginalised groups.
The following policy and resources are provided to support leagues and clubs in not only meeting Government mandated legislation, but making sure they are providing safe and fair environments for participants to thrive.
COACHING:
A coach plays an important role in whether football participation has a positive or negative effect on each child and whether they will return to play each season. Coaches can help create a positive sporting environment and reduce poor behavior by being good role models.
For each season, all club coaches must be Level 1 accredited (at minimum). If a club has any person interested in becoming a coach or a coach needs to update their accreditation, please provide them the link below or contact the SANFL State Coaching Manager, Dave Reynolds, at [email protected] for more information.
UMPIRING
Umpiring plays a critical role in community football and without umpires we would not be able to play. Please see below for how to become an umpire today.
