Anzac Day is one of the most significant days on the football calendar, with all SANFL Clubs unified in paying respect to the sacrifices of our past and present service men and women.
All Hostplus SANFL League Anzac Day matches across the long weekend will feature an observance ceremony before the first bounce in acknowledgement of the contribution and sacrifice of those who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
The ceremony includes the traditional Ode of Remembrance and Last Post before a moment’s silence, Rouse and National Anthem.
In a show of respect, every SANFL Club hosting match days across Anzac Day matches will be offering free entry to all Veterans and Ex-Serving Members of the Australian Defence Force.
As reigning premier, Sturt earns the right to host 2025 grand finalist Glenelg in the 2026 Anzac Day feature match on April 25.
SANFL’s traditional ANZAC Day re-match between the previous season’s grand finalists dates back to 1948 and is one of the most significant match days in the SANFL premiership season.
The Bob Quinn Medal – named after the late South Australian Football Hall of Fame inductee, dual Magarey Medal winner, Port Adelaide great and decorated World War II legend – will be presented to the Best-on-Ground player at the conclusion of the Sturt v Glenelg Anzac Day match by Bob’s son, Greg Quinn.
Free entry will be offered before 12 noon to those attending ANZAC Round matches.
