For the first time, SANFL is bringing its 2026 Hostplus SANFL and SANFLW Season Launch to Rundle Mall, giving fans the opportunity to get up close with their favourite clubs and players before the season kicks off.

The festivities will get underway on Wednesday, March 25, from 10am at the Rundle Mall/Gawler Place intersection as SANFL brings a footy-festival style fan zone to the Mall, celebrating both the 2026 SANFL and SANFLW seasons.

SANFL and SANFLW club captains, and SANFL and SANFLW coaches will take the stage from 11am for interviews, quick-fire questions and to give fans a preview of the season ahead.

Players from the 2025 SANFL Junior Club of the Year – Modbury Football Club – will also make an appearance, giving fans an insight into what it takes to become one of the most successful SANFL Junior clubs.

The 2026 season launch also coincides with the start of SANFL’s newest marketing campaign, ‘A League of Our Own’ celebrating high-quality footy, over 100 years of tradition, elite players and the league’s passionate fans, which will be rolled out across on television, radio, social media and public transport from next Monday.

SANFL’s newest marketing campaign ‘A League of Our Own’ celebrates the league’s passionate fans and high-quality football.

“Launching the 2026 Hostplus SANFL and SANFLW seasons in Rundle Mall – the heart of the CBD – is a fantastic way to bring our league, clubs and fans together ahead of a new season,” SANFL CEO Darren Chandler said.

“Taking the season launch to such an iconic location allows us to engage with even more fans and invite people into the SANFL experience before the first bounce of the season.

“This coincides with the launch of our ‘A League of Our Own’ campaign, which celebrates what makes SANFL football so special – our proud clubs, passionate supporters and the strong connection to communities right across South Australia.

“The campaign is about celebrating our fans and inviting more people to experience the excitement, atmosphere and quality of SANFL football.

“The launch of a new SANFL season is always an exciting time for the league, our clubs, and the fans, and we are looking forward to welcoming fans back to SANFL venues from this Friday, for Round 1 when traditional rivals Norwood host Sturt at The Parade.”

Round 1 of the Hostplus SANFL League gets underway this Friday when Norwood host reigning premiers at Coopers Stadium from 7:40pm.

The action continues on Saturday when South Adelaide host Woodville-West Torrens at Magain Stadium at 2:10pm, as West Adelaide – under new coach Nathan Bassett – take on Adelaide at Richmond Oval from 2:10pm.

Elsewhere, Port Adelaide will come up against Glenelg at Alberton Oval from 4:10pm, the match broadcast live and free on 7Mate and 7Plus from 4pm.

Round 1 concludes when Central District face off against a new North Adelaide outfit – led by Josh Francou – at 4:10pm, which will be broadcast on 1629 SEN and the SEN App.
