Bottom-age midfielder Emma Charlton and young gun Lani Cocks have been lauded as South Australia’s MVPs after incredible performances at the 2025 AFLW National Girls Championships.
U18 MVP Emma Charlton was deemed best afield against Victoria Metro and Victoria Country after a strong campaign in the midfield for the Croweaters – averaging 24.7 disposals and 7.3 tackles across the four games.
U16 MVP Lani Cocks was recognised for her outstanding performance off half-back for South Australia, in which she was named the AFLW U16 Championships MVP.
SA U18 Girls captain Imogen Trengove caught the eye of her coaches, winning the Coaches Trophy, with vice-captain Sophie Thredgold receiving the respect of her fellow teammates and coaches with the Ashleigh Young Award going to the defender.
North Adelaide defender Isabella Beaumont was awarded the U16 Girls Coaches Award and Central District goal sneak Charlotte Maurits won the U16 Players Players Award for 2025.
It was also a night of celebration for the SA U16 Girls Squad, which was officially awarded the 2025 Marsh AFLW U16 National Development Cup after taking out the title in April.
