Central District held Sturt goalless in the second half to record a gritty four-point victory at Thomas Farms Oval in Round 9 of the SANFL U16s.
Sturt raced out of the blocks to lead by 24 points at the first break and continued to keep Central at bay until half-time.
However the Dogs’ team-defence stood tall from then on, restricting Sturt’s scoring and eventually clawing their way in-front at the 19-minute mark of the final term.
Bulldogs ruckman Hugo Semmler was instrumental in the win, tallying 28 disposals and 39 hit-outs, while Sturt’s Taj Garrett was dominant with 40 disposals and two goals.

A total of 13 Roosters hit the scoreboard, tall Jackson Penney leading the way with four and Zechariah Amos and Kade Clark each booting two.
Penny also accumulated 26 disposals and 23 hit-outs in a strong display, while teammates Blake Amos and Harry Tamblyn both finished with 31 disposals and a goal.

West Adelaide snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating Norwood by 78 points at The Parade.
The Bloods’ goal-kicking accuracy was a highlight, their seven-goal first term laying the foundations for the victory and run of eight majors without blemish in the second half capping off an excellent performance.
West had an array of contributors across the board, including Laurence Andriani (41 disposals and two goals), Chad Freund (34 disposals and one goal) and Samuel DePalma (22 disposals and three goals).
Norwood’s Thomas Gribben filled the stats sheet despite the loss, accumulating 42 disposals, 16 marks and a massive 202 ranking points.
Glenelg made it three wins in a row with a comfortable 54-point victory over South Adelaide at Stratarama Stadium.
South travelled to Brighton Road full of confidence following a dominant win in Round 8, however, the Tigers didn’t give the visitors an inch.
Glenelg controlled the midfield battle and increased their lead at each break, Zane Rooney starring with 33 disposals, ten clearances and two goals.
Zemes Pilot performed well once-again for the Panthers, tallying 23 disposals, four goals and eight inside-50s – all team-highs.
