Sturt ball magnet Will Snelling has cruised to a comfortable win in the 2024 SANFL Now Player of the Year Award.

One of the superstars of the Hostplus SANFL League this season, Snelling’s impressive tally of 28 votes was enough to hold off Norwood ruckman Harry Boyd on 23 votes.

North Adelaide’s Campbell Combe finished third on 19 votes while Glenelg’s Matt Allen jumped into fourth place on 17 after polling a first preference in Round 19.

Returning to South Australia after playing 64 AFL games for Essendon since 2019, Snelling’s win was even more impressive considering he missed matches in Round 13 and 14.

Averaging 29 disposals, seven clearances and 11 tackles this year, the Double Blues’ No.14 polled five first preferences after attracting votes in 12 matches throughout 2024.

Snelling receives $500 courtesy of SANFL for the award, which is judged by SANFL Now commentators under a 3-2-1 voting system.
