North Adelaide’s strong first-quarter performance saw it defeat Norwood by 53 points at Norwood Oval in Round 7 of the SANFL U16s.

The Roosters kicked the opening four goals of the game to gain an early lead.

Archie Simpson was excellent for North with four goals and was well supported by Alby Bradshaw (three goals, 25 disposals, nine clearances) and Bradley Rogers (32 disposals, eight marks).

Oliver Juett was solid for the Redlegs with three goals, with Blake Jones continuing his great form with 30 disposals, 10 marks and nine inside 50s.

An eight goal-to-one first half set up a huge 76-point win for Sturt against Woodville-West Torrens at Thomas Farms Oval.

The Double Blues were well served up forward by Jesse Filmer, Taj Garrett and Lachie Werts, who all kicked three goals in the convincing win.

Austin Huxtable had a strong showing for Sturt with 26 disposals and eight marks, with Will Buckingham also excellent for the Double Blues with 19 disposals and eight rebound 50s.

It was a tough day for the Eagles, who went scoreless in the first quarter and only kicked 3.8 for the game as Riley Henneker battled hard for 20 disposals.

Glenelg got the better of West Adelaide, defeating the Bloods by 12 points at Hisense Stadium.

A strong first half saw the Tigers leading by 23 points at half-time and while Westies attempted a comeback in the second half, it was too little, too late for the home side.

Glenelg had a host of strong performances, including Harvey Crocker who registered 27 disposals and seven tackles as Will Attiwell had six inside 50s and eight marks to go along with his 21 possessions.

Ryan McAulay once again put on a show for West Adelaide with 28 disposals, three goals and eight inside 50s.

 

 

A tight contest saw Central District run out four-point victors over South Adelaide at Flinders University Stadium.

Down by three points at three quarter-time, the Bulldogs kicked 14 points to the Panthers’ seven to get over the line.

Jack Gordan was the leading ball-winner for Central with 28 disposals and six inside 50s, with Dougie Cochrane also leading the pack with 22 disposals and 10 marks.

Archie Van Dyk had another stellar performance for the Panthers with 31 disposals, one goal, seven marks and nine tackles.
