Australian Football hasn’t always been Georgia Madigan’s sole focus.
It’s difficult to tell as Central District’s premiership defender approaches her 50th Hostplus SANFL League match, as she looks at home in the Bulldogs’ backline.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 24-year-old revealed she is still very much learning how best to play the game despite being a member of last year’s The Advertiser SANFLW Team of the Year.
Madigan has slowly developed an offensive side to her game in the past two seasons as she became a vital cog in her team claiming its historic first flag in 2023.
A secondary school teacher at Roma Mitchell High School with North Adelaide opponent Brianna Arthur, Madigan is now thriving on passing on her wisdom to the young pups at Elizabeth.
Originally from Barossa Districts Football Club, Madigan – an accomplished basketballer with Central District Lions – was introduced to the sport by teammate Maddy Lane.
Perhaps a future in coaching beckons but first, Central’s No.7 will be pushing to ensure her team claims an important victory against Sturt at X Convenience Oval on Sunday.
