”Oscar was in a program last year and we was a late-bloomer, we didn’t really know him as a 17-year-old.
”He played in our national (championships) game last year as a lead ruck and his ruck craft and ability to put the ball to the advantage of the mids was really good.
”So we were rapt to see him play senior football for Westies this year in the ruck. He probably kept Barney (Harry Barnett) out of a couple of games, being a year older than Harry.
”Steeny is a pure ruckman and for him to play at League level as a 19-year-old in the ruck is a good sign. I’m really pleased for him so hopefully he gets his chance.”
