SANFL is thrilled to announce the extension of its partnership with leading national insurer AAMI until the end of 2022, providing a significant funding boost for State League and grassroots community football in South Australia.
SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said the recommitment from AAMI as a Premier Partner would greatly support community football and both the men’s and women’s State League competitions.
“AAMI is an outstanding supporter of our game nationally for both men and women and we are thrilled to have them continue to get behind grassroots community football and the SANFL Clubs,” he said.
“Over the past two years, the partnership has resulted in SANFL Clubs benefitting from over $120,000 in funding towards upgraded facilities, new equipment and uniforms and improved development programs.
“As SANFL Clubs continue to face significant financial challenges in 2022, this ongoing support from AAMI will be invaluable to maintaining the strength of talent in our game and quality of facilities at all levels.”
The agreement also will ensure the continuation of the State League rookies program (AAMI Rookies) whereby community football clubs are rewarded for fostering talent. In 2021, with a total of 52 AAMI Rookies playing in the Statewide Super League, the program contributed $26,000 to local community clubs.
AAMI’s Executive Manager for South Australia CTP, Allicia Tsolis, said AAMI was pleased to continue to support football at all levels in Australia in recommitting as Premier Partner of the SANFL for a third year.
“As another season comes to a close, we’re excited to announce the extension of our partnership with SANFL for another year,” Ms Tsolis said.
“We are a big supporter of the game nationally, having been a proud partner for more than 10 years and with South Australia being a hugely important market for us, it’s great we can share our love for footy in a state that is just as passionate about the game as we are.
“We’re always looking for ways to add further value to our communities and our partnership with SANFL demonstrates this, by giving much needed funding to the local clubs which have been doing it tough during these uncertain times.
“We look forward to continuing to work with SANFL to support both men’s and women’s grassroots programs.”
