Vale Max Hewitt

SANFL is saddened by the passing of League Player Life Member Maxwell Hewitt.

Hewitt, who passed away on November 15 aged 88, played 137 games for West Adelaide Football Club between 1949 and 1960.

He is also the father of former notable SANFL and AFL players Glynn and Darryl Hewitt.

Hewitt was awarded SANFL Player Life membership following the end of his football career in 1960, having been awarded West Adelaide Football Club Life Membership the previous year.

The League extends its deepest sympathies to the Hewitt family as it pays respect to Max Hewitt’s contribution to our game in South Australia.
