Woodville-West Torrens midfielder Sophie Zuill will reach her 50th Hostplus SANFLW League game in speedy fashion on Good Friday.

Making her debut in Round 1 of 2020, the 23-year-old rarely misses a game such is her outstanding durability and fitness whilst working hard for her beloved Eagles.

And if you ask the former surf life-saver, she is left in no doubt that her past sporting pursuits have laid the foundation for an elite football career in the SANFLW.

”I came from surf live-saving where I learned to be driven and hardworking, which definitely put me in a good position to work through the high demands of the Eagles’ program,” said Zuill.

”Playing 50 games for the Eagles is a massive milestone for me. I still feel fairly new to but this is my fifth season and when I reflect on my journey, and how much I have developed as a footballer and a person, I feel really proud.”

Starting her footballing career with the Pulteney Football Club in 2018, Zuill quickly fell in love with the game and never looked back.

”Football started off very socially for me but I love it for the team environment and all of the friendships I have made along the way,” she said.

Now the flexible Eagle is not only keen to secure a win against West Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval on Good Friday but also to qualify for the club’s inaugural finals series.

”I’m really excited to run out there with the girls on Friday, have some fun and hopefully get the double win in League and Development League,” Zuill said.

”I’m keen to continue playing good, consistent footy this season. We have such a good group of girls at the Eagles and I would love for us to work our way into our first finals series, and even better, to a premiership.”
