West Adelaide’s Olivia Smith is quite content to take the tag as the Bloods’ silent achiever across her 49 Hostplus SANFLW League games.
One of her team’s most consistent performers since her SANFLW League debut in 2019, Smith rarely receives the accolades she deserves outside of Hisense Stadium.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, that’s exactly how the 21-year-old likes it as she performs her role for the Bloods with minimum fanfare.
Enjoying her time on the wing where she can maximise the impact of her impressive running capacity, the former gymnast also relishes the odd assignment of being a run-with player.
Starting her football journey with Blackwood’s juniors in 2017, Smith will notch her 50th Hostplus SANFLW League game against Sturt at Thomas Farms Oval on Saturday.
Given she juggles her footy career with a full-time role as a nurse at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, it is an impressive achievement as she manages strange sleeping hours around her work and footy routine.
