Adelaide has elected to appeal the SANFL Tribunal’s guilty verdict of Chayce Jones’ striking charge on Wednesday night.

Jones, who unsuccessfully challenged his one-match ban at the SANFL Tribunal, will now face an appeal hearing chaired by SANFL’s Appeals Commissioner Michael David KC at 4pm on Friday.

Wednesday June 10

Adelaide’s Chayce Jones has unsuccessfully challenged a one-match ban for striking South’s Harley Sparks at Magain Stadium on Saturday.

Jones, who faced the SANFL Tribunal on Wednesday night, pleaded not guilty, arguing that his conduct was careless and of low impact.

However, the SANFL Tribunal Panel – chaired by Anthony Allen – determined that Jones was guilty and that his conduct should remain as intentional and of medium impact.

Jones’ one-match penalty will stand, ensuring he will miss the Crows’ SANFL match against North Adelaide on Saturday.
