South Adelaide ultimately overcame Woodville-West Torrens by nine points at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval in Round 6 of the SANFL U16s.
In a high-octane first quarter, the Eagles kicked five goals in the first 11 minutes before South hit back with three late majors to wrestle back the momentum.
With talented forward Zemes Pilot looking ominous inside-50, the Panthers got their game going and opened up a 10-point lead at half-time.
Despite the Eagles’ accurate goal-kicking, South’s midfield ascendency and inside-50 dominance saw it take the premiership points.
In a standout display, Pilot finished with a stat-line to behold, including a game-high 32 disposals, four goals, five contested marks, nine clearances and 11 inside-50s.

Central District extended its winning streak to four games by defeating North Adelaide by 15 points at Prospect Oval.
The Bulldogs got their noses in front early, largely thanks to three first-half goals from Brayden Whimpress, however, the Roosters never went away.
A tight second-half saw both sides kick six goals, and the visitors ultimately coming away with an important win.
Bulldog Billy Nichols finished with 20 disposals and three goals while Oscar Kermeen booted three goals from 13 disposals for the Roosters.
A terrific performance from Ollie Easton propelled Norwood to a 29-point win over Glenelg at The Parade.
The Redlegs led at every change and the result never looked in doubt despite an inaccurate final term from both sides.
Easton’s three first-half goals were integral to the victory and he finished the game with 27 disposals, 10 marks, six tackles and five clearances.
His Norwood teammate George Serocki gathered a game-high 29 disposals and consistent Tiger Tim Cain managed 28 possessions and 12 inside-50s.
