In what was an evenly-matched battle between two of the competition’s strongest sides, the Double Blues had the upper hand in the first half and took a 19-point lead into the main break.

The Panthers hit back and kicked the first three goals of the second half to lead for the first time, however, it was short-lived as Sturt responded with four in a row to wrestle back momentum and secure an important victory.

Sturt’s Taj Garrett played an important role by gathering 25 disposals, 11 marks and a goal, while Jayce Potter accumulated a game-high 31 possessions and eight marks for South.
