Mum’s the word for Julia’s 50 Hostplus SANFLW League games

By ZAC MILBANK

Dual North Adelaide premiership utility Julia Clark is left in no uncertain terms when it comes to thanking someone for reaching her 50th Hostplus SANFLW League game.

Preparing to face last year’s Grand Finalist Sturt at Prospect on Good Friday for her milestone match, the 20-year-old revealed it was her Mum who ”pushed” her towards the game of Australian Football.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, Clark said she had played netball for a decade before relishing the chance to begin her footy journey with Hope Valley and Broadview Football Clubs.

Making her SANFLW League debut in Round 1 of 2019, Clark found it difficult to rank one of her premiership medals higher than the other despite her 2020 success coming in undefeated fashion.

Playing a vital role as a defender in 2020, Clark has since thrived in a move further up the field into the midfield where she is a key cog in coach Krissie Steen’s on-ball brigade.

Studying Mechanical Engineering at University, the SA U19 representative is desperate to help her Roosters rejoin the winners circle with a victory against the Double Blues in Round 7.
