SANFLW State Team Ones to Watch

SANFL Media’s Alexandra Bull selects SANFLW State Team’s ones to watch ahead of Saturday’s clash with the WAFLW in Perth.

Woodville-West Torrens forward Klaudia O’Neill is in full flight in season 2026, having already kicked 14 goals in four Hostplus SANFLW League games.

Measuring in at 181cm, the left-footer was the Eagles leading goalkicker in 2025 and was named at full forward in the 2025 The Advertiser SANFLW Team of the Year.

O’Neill is an excellent contested mark and provides a commanding presence up forward, making her a serious headache for opposition defenders.

Last year’s SANFLW Best and Fairest is picking up where she left off last year.

Averaging a staggering 29.5 disposals, 6.3 marks, five tackles and 6.8 clearances across the opening three rounds of the season, Venning provides plenty of run and carry across the ground.

Venning is also averaging 4.3 inside 50s per game, creating plenty of scoring options for her teammates.

The inside midfielder has been named in the SANFLW State Team since its inception in 2024 and is also a regular fixture in The Advertiser SANFLW Team of the Year.

The former AFLW listed player is arguably in the best form of her Hostplus SANFLW League career. 

Installed as Norwood’s captain in 2026, Jade Halfpenny has primarily been playing through the middle for the Redlegs this season, averaging 29 disposals, 6.8 tackles, six clearances and 5.8 inside 50s.

Known for her strong overhead mark and clean kicking skills, she has claimed back-to-back best-and-fairest awards at Norwood.

Halfpenny has been selected in all three SANFLW State Teams, with the 175cm utility able to play multiple positions across the ground.

One of the most prolific defenders in the competition, South Adelaide’s Tiffany King has been a mainstay in the SANFLW State Team for the past two years.

Ultra-competitive in the air and excellent one-on-one, King notched up 19 disposals and three marks in South Australia’s win over the VFLW in April.

King is a triple premiership player with the Panthers and is currently the captain of South Adelaide’s SANFLW side, a testament to her leadership qualities.

Often doubling as an extra midfielder, SANFLW ruck Soriah Moon causes headaches for the opposition every time she steps onto the field.

She has featured in all three SANFLW State Squads and is currently averaging 16.3 disposals and 4.7 clearances for South Adelaide in the Hostplus SANFLW League.

Last year’s SANFLW best-and-fairest runner-up, Moon is one of the most consistent players in the competition.

The former elite basketballer also took out the Margaret Nyland Medal as South Adelaide’s best-and-fairest last year after a standout season.
