The SANFL is embracing South Australian football heritage, while looking to the future with its hospitality, entertainment and sporting precinct at West Lakes officially named the Footy Park Precinct.
A place to MEET, EAT and PLAY, the Footy Park Precinct honours the legacy of nearly 40 years of SANFL and AFL footy at Football Park and unites under one banner the Mosaic Hotel, X-Golf and Hey Caddy entertainment venue, and SANFL’s centrepiece $25 million High Performance Centre.
The precinct’s transformation is creating a dynamic entertainment and social hub for the West Lakes and broader community while providing state-of-the art facilities to help young footballers reach the heights of SANFL and the AFL.

The $25.3 million High Performance Centre for SANFL’s elite male and female under-16s and under-18s, is the first venue of its kind in Australia and remains on track to be completed by November.
Footy Park Precinct will offer expanded function and event spaces, with the new talent centre, adjoining the Mosaic Hotel, to feature the Oval View Room overlooking Football Park, suitable for local clubs, community groups, corporate and special events.
Plans are also underway for a new all-weather beer garden at the Mosaic Hotel, expanding the precinct’s hospitality offerings for nearby residents and visitors to West Lakes.

“Our vision is for the Footy Park Precinct to be the premier entertainment and sporting destination in Adelaide’s west – providing a meeting place where, community, sport, dining and entertainment intersect,” SANFL CEO Darren Chandler said.
“Through the redevelopment of the area and the addition of our state-of-the-art High-Performance Centre, we are honouring the proud legacy and heritage of Football Park while creating a space where everyone feels welcome.
“Importantly, commercial revenue generated through the Footy Park Precinct is reinvested directly back into South Australian football – supporting grassroots clubs, player development, community programs and the long-term sustainability of the game.”

Footy Park stadium was the home of football in South Australia and the heartland for Adelaide footy fans from 1974 to 2013, before returning to the traditional home of football, the iconic Adelaide Oval.
The Mosaic Hotel building – rebranded from the Checkside Tavern following a $4 million renovation in 2020, has been owned by SANFL since 2009.
Above the hotel in the former Magarey Function Room of Football Park, the SANFL officially opened South Australia’s largest X-Golf and Hey Caddy franchise in mid-2023.
The venue includes six state-of-the-art X-Golf simulators, an 18-hole Hey Caddy mini-golf course, a full-service kitchen and a fully licensed bar.
