SANFL offers its hearty congratulations to former South Australian Football Commission Chairman Rob Kerin on being recognised as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) on this year’s King’s Birthday honours list.
The Honourable Rob Kerin, who stepped down as SA Football Commission Chairman in March after serving two terms with distinction from 2020 to 2026, was also highly regarded in his role as Community Football League Director from 2014 to 2020.
A passionate advocate for football clubs, and volunteers across regional areas of SA, Kerin’s strong connections to country football were fostered by his playing days, and role as club president, with Crystal Brook Football Club in the State’s mid north.
A former Premier of South Australia, Kerin will always he held in high regard by the SA football community, including SANFL staff, for his kind and genuine character.
“SANFL’s vision is to be the game loved by all South Australians and I’m so proud of the work that’s been done to ensure we have the nation’s best talent pathways, and that our competition remains the premier State League in the nation,” said Kerin, who also served as Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority Chair for the past four years.
