A huge three days of SANFL footy will headline the King’s Birthday long weekend, including the second instalment of the Kick n Sip Festival at the Sturt Football Club.
Round nine of the Hostplus SANFL League will be headlined by the Sturt v Norwood SANFL Super Match on Monday, 9 June, with the Kick n Sip Festival adding to the long weekend festivities at Thomas Farms Oval.
Woodville-West Torrens will get the long weekend started on Saturday with its blockbuster clash against Central District at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval from 2:10pm, with both clubs in the hunt for spots at the top end of the ladder.
The Eagles will be hosting their President’s Home Match Luncheon – presented by The Hospital Research Group Foundation – with guest speakers Central District and Hawthorn legend John Platten, and Eagles’ legend and former Adelaide Crows player Andrew Payze headlining the lunch.
Woodville-West Torrens SANFLW team will head to X-Convenience Oval to take on Central District at 12pm, with the Eagles looking to cement their spot at top of the SANFLW ladder.

South Adelaide is also getting into the festive vibe with its jam-packed day of footy at Magain Stadium on Saturday, kicking off at 9:30am with the South Adelaide and West Adelaide reserves, followed by South and Westies doing battle in the Hostplus SANFLW League from 12pm, with Hostplus SANFL League match against Adelaide – the latter clubs 200th game in SANFL – from 2:30pm. The free Family Zone will be fully activated at Magain Stadium, including a petting zoo and jumping castle.

A Sunday triple header will feature at Staratrama Stadium, with SANFL Reserves kicking off a huge day of footy from 11:30am, before the Hostplus SANFL League gets underway at 2:10pm, with the Hostplus SANFLW rounding out the day from 5pm.
There will also be plenty to celebrate about at the Bay on Sunday afternoon, with the men’s league playing for the Sandland Cup, named in honour of John Sandland who played 105 games for Glenelg and 22 Games for North Adelaide. The Tigers will also honour three milestone players – triple premiership player Max Proud’s for his 200th game, 2019 Magarey Medallist Luke Partington’s 100th game and James Bell who will notch up 50 games. The club will also be hosting its 1985 and 1986 back-to-back premiership reunion.

Port Adelaide will host West Adelaide at Alberton Oval this Sunday from 2.10pm.
Alberton Oval will also host some of the best young talent SA has to from 11:15am, when SA U18 taking on Vic Metro in Game 2 of the 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – with the SA boys looking to make it two from two after they defeated the Allies in NSW last Sunday.

The Kick n Sip Festival at Unley will feature one of SANFL’s biggest rivalries, with a host of delicious food offerings, wine and gin bars, live music, entertainment and activities also available on the day.
Hosted by Sturt and supported by the City of Unley, the Kick n Sip event will coincide with a Sturt v Norwood blockbuster day of footy, kicking off with the Reserves at 9.40am, followed by Hostplus SANFLW League at 12:10pm and coming to a head with the Hostplus SANFL League clash at 2:30pm.
From 11am until three quarter time, Kick n Sip will be held on Trimmer and Oxford terraces which will be partially closed and transformed with food trucks, including wood-fired pizza from Frankie & Sons Gourmet Pizzas, paella, and sweet and savoury crepes. Pop-up bars serving quality local drops from Farmers Leap Wines, TQLA mixed drinks and cold beers will also be available, plus Fresh 92.7 DJ Miah on the decks.
The Kick n Sip festival will also have heaters outside, so you can stay toasty and warm whilst soaking up the footy atmosphere.
The Hostplus SANFL League Sturt v Norwood game is also a SANFL Super Match, presented by The Advertiser, elevating the match day experience even further.

“There is no better way to wrap up the long weekend festivities than with a day at the footy. Sturt have done an excellent job organising this fantastic event, which – together with the SANFL Super Match activities – will enhance the game day experience and highlight SANFL footy at its finest,” said SANFL Executive General Manager Football Matt Duldig.
“Kick n Sip is one of those events, where you can come and have a fantastic time – whether you’re a footy fan or not.
“To top it all off, fans will get to witness the great rivalry between Sturt and Norwood, with three cracking games on offer for spectators.”
