Experienced football administrator and businessman Steven Trigg has been elected unopposed to the South Australian Football Commission.
Mr Trigg, managing director of the Randall Wine Group and former CEO of the Adelaide Football Club and Carlton Football Club, will serve an initial three-year term on the SA Football Commission, South Australia’s governing body for football.
He fills the vacancy created by the departure of Peter Lindner whose term has ended.
In addition, Bill Moody, who joined the commission in 2019, was re-elected unopposed for a further three-year term.
These appointments were made at a General Meeting of the SANFL League Directors held this evening.
Mr Trigg’s involvement with South Australian football spans nearly three decades as a player, coach and administrator.
He played 129 senior matches for Central District and North Adelaide (1980-1987) and coached the Sturt Football Club’s Reserves (1990) and League (1991-92).
Most notably, he joined the Adelaide Football Club (AFC) as communications manager in the Crows’ inaugural premiership season 1997.
He served as the club’s CEO from 2002-2014 before taking up the same role at Carlton from 2014-2017. He is the managing director of leading South Australian wine company The Randall Wine Group since 2018.

Mr Trigg said he was “rapt to be joining the Commission” and have the opportunity to once again contribute to the game in South Australia.
“I grew up, played, coached and worked in the SANFL world – and to be able to return to it with the peak body is something to genuinely look forward to,” he said.
SANFL’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 6pm at Adelaide Oval.
