The traditional SANFL Grand Final Eve player presentation in Rundle Mall returns this Saturday.
The presentation of the 2024 Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final players and coaches, and officiating umpires, will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 11am at Stephen’s Place, adjacent to the Myer Centre in the Mall.
Seven’s Andrew Hayes will MC the event, with the Fiveaa Saturday Sports Show, with Ken ‘KG’ Cunningham and Graham Cornes, to be broadcast live from the Mall from 9am – 12pm.
KG is also this year’s official premiership cup ambassador, accompanying the Thomas Seymour Hill trophy in the Kia Cup Delivery on Adelaide Oval before the first bounce on Sunday.
Norwood and Glenelg League players and senior coaches will be available for autograph signings and photos. Fans also have an opportunity to have their photo taken with the Thomas Seymour Hill trophy.
There will also be ticket giveaways on the day for the Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final.
The Grand Final Eve presentation is a longstanding tradition for SANFL, dating back to the 1980s.
SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said the Grand Final Eve event was a tradition of the SANFL competition, providing passionate SANFL footy supporters with an opportunity to celebrate the Grand Final atmosphere in the heart of the city.
“There’s a real sense of excitement, particularly with Norwood and Glenelg set to meet in a Grand Final for the first time in over 40 years,” Chandler said.
“This will be wonderful opportunity for fans to have one last chance to meet and greet the players before the big day on Sunday and we’re hoping to see a big turnout of Redlegs and Tiger supporters,” Mr Chandler said.
The 2024 Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final on Sunday will be the first time Norwood and Glenelg have met in a SANFL League Grand Final since 1982.
